my thoughts

1 Corinthians 6:19-20
"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body."

Romans 12:1-2
"Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."

I just want to let it be known that I do not consider myself an expert in nutrition or exercise. I'm 21 years old, and I want to give my body what it needs to thrive! I don't believe that 99% of what the large corporations (such as the food industry, the medical industry, and the pharmaceutical industry, all of which have such a huge influence on our society) tell us our bodies need is truly what our bodies need. I think a little differently than most, or maybe the difference is simply that I think for myself. What is documented on my blog is what I have learned and what I have discovered through trial and error, through study, and through talking with experts.

January 2014

The promise of a New Year seems to bring about such hope and inspiration in people. We all make such a big deal about our resolutions, and how this year is going to be different. The thought of a fresh start, a clean slate, the chance to start over seems to appeal to everyone - so why do so few people start every day that way? Why do we only do it at the beginning of the year? Why don't people realize that we can start fresh, clean, and pure because of Jesus every single day of the year. We have every minute of our lives to decide to be better people; to try and become the very best version of ourselves. I, for one, don't do this nearly enough. I get "stuck in a rut" and caught in apathetic slumps, and barely live this incredible life that I have. It's time to take advantage of every minute God has given me on earth. It is time to put Him first in everything, and to start every single day grateful that I can start fresh and clean.
"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed." Proverbs 16:3

September 2013

I love pinterest - probably too much. I have a board on there called live simply |2013| which is where most of my inspiration for changing my life style has come from. Please check it out and follow it if you'd like! These are a few of the "pins" that I've pinned there. I don't own them or anything, I'm just sharing them in hopes that they'll inspire you as well.
